From this lush, green side of Greece, the Ionian sea is like a different world. With it's Venetian architecture and abundant anchorages it is one of the most popular cruising grounds in the Mediterranean. We will beat the crowds along with the heat, and enjoy better winds and kinder temperatures by heading there early June.
Our 2-week sailing adventure will take us around all the main Ionian islands and, if weather and time permits, in an open sea crossing to the southern tip of Italy's heel, or to the wild and rugged Peloponese.
From beautiful Lefkada island, we sail north to the hidden gems of Paxos and Antipaxos. Further north, Corfu has a reputation for being a busy, touristic island. Early in the season it is much more welcoming. Weather permitting, we make an overnight sail to the charming Italian Santa Maria di Leuca and the historic, fortified port of Otranto, before heading to the Ionian to explore Lefkas, Kefalonia, Zakynthos and Odysseus' Ithaca.
Expect to sail at least 500nM, some over-night sailing adventures, and the best Greece has to offer of quiet anchorages, local cuisine and charming seaside towns. PORT FEES INCLUDED.
